This past Monday and Tuesday, we were thrilled to welcome the first group of students to the University of Jakarta International at our brand-new Slipi campus in West Jakarta. The energy was high as students and their families arrived, ready to start their university journey.
The first day was about helping everyone feel at home. Our university leaders, including Dr. Wenny Candra Mandagie (CEO), Prof. Dr. Paiman Raharjo (Rector), Dra. Fransisca Laij (Vice Rector of Internal Affairs), Drs. Arjuna Wiwaha (Vice Rector of Academics), Dr. Junaid Ali Saeed Rana (Dean of IT and Business), Dr. Catherine Thomas (Dean of Psychology), and Mr. David Henderson (Director of Global Relations), were there to welcome everyone with open arms. They introduced students to campus life, covering what to expect in the next three years and the basic rules of the university.
During lunch, we took a break to enjoy a special performance by our Music Club, led by music club president, Raymond Abraham. Our ambassadors, Betrand Putra Onsu and Jefan Nathanio, also joined in to add some extra fun and energy to the event.
On Day 2, the focus shifted to having fun and making new friends. Students spent the day playing games designed to help them bond and feel more comfortable with one another. Teams competed in seven different games, winning some great prizes and, more importantly, forming new connections.
As we wrapped up the two-day orientation, we were excited to see the friendships already forming and the enthusiasm for the journey ahead. We’re truly happy to have such an amazing group of students joining us and can’t wait to see what the next three years will bring.
Thank you to all the students and families for making these first days special. We’re looking forward to supporting you every step of the way!
