GRADUATE PROFILES
UNIJI’s Data Science programme prepares graduates to transform data into meaningful insights, predictive models, and practical solutions for industry and society. The programme combines statistics, programming, data engineering, and artificial intelligence with professional ethics, effective communication, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Graduates are prepared to pursue entry-level professional opportunities across four core profiles:
1. Data Analyst
Collects, cleans, explores, and visualises data to identify trends and communicate findings that support informed decisions. Connects organisational questions with clear, evidence-based insights.
2. Data Scientist
Applies statistical methods and machine learning to analyse complex datasets, identify patterns, and develop predictive models. Evaluates model performance and interprets results to help address practical problems.
3. Data Engineer
Builds and maintains basic data pipelines that collect, store, and integrate data from different sources. Supports data quality and availability so that reliable data can be used for analysis, reporting, and intelligent applications.
4. Machine Learning / AI Engineer
Contributes to implementing machine learning and artificial intelligence models within software applications. Supports the development, integration, and evaluation of predictive and intelligent systems.
