Great news has come from our scholarship recipient and student, Dwiyaning Aprillia Putri. Dwiyaning is not only a proud student at the University of Jakarta International (UNIJI) but also a rising star in Indonesia’s national swimming scene. In November 2024, she had an outstanding performance at the Indonesia Open Aquatic Championship, winning 1 gold and 2 silver medals. Earlier this year, she also earned a bronze medal in the Women’s 10KM Open Water Swimming category at the PON XXI in Aceh, showcasing her talent and determination on the national stage.
For Dwiyaning, swimming is more than just a sport—it’s a passion. The way she moves through the water reflects her dedication and hard work. Swimming not only keeps her physically fit but also helps her find peace of mind. It’s a sport that anyone can enjoy, regardless of age or ability, and Dwiyaning’s journey proves that with dedication, anyone can succeed.
Balancing her responsibilities as both a student and an athlete is no easy task, and Dwiyaning herself admits it can be a challenge. In a recent interview, she shared that managing her time between training and studying is tough. However, she is thankful for the support from the lecturers at UNIJI, who understand her commitment to both her education and her swimming career. “I know it’s not easy, but I know I can definitely do it,” she said, showing the strong mindset that has helped her succeed in both areas.
From the nerves she felt at her first competitions to the confidence she has gained over time, Dwiyaning’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance. Her recent successes at the Indonesia Open and PON XXI are just the beginning, and with her continued hard work and focus, Dwiyaning is sure to achieve even more in the years ahead. She’s not only building a promising future in sports but also setting herself up for success as a student at UNIJI.
